117. Three new positions have been proposed for Drivers (Local level) to support the Mission from August 2009 (ibid., table following para. 194).

81. As shown in the table above, the Secretary-General has proposed three new positions for Drivers and the abolition of an Administrative Assistant position for the missions under cluster II. The Advisory Committee recommends approval of the staffing changes proposed by the Secretary-General.

The General Assembly, in paragraph 11 of its resolution 62/261, decided to approve the establishment of 14 of the 28 national General Service temporary positions for Drivers for the Transport and Supply Sections, resulting in a total of 38 temporary positions approved for the 2008/09 period.
وقررت الجمعية العامة، في الفقرة 11 من قرارها 62/261، الموافقة على إنشاء 14 وظيفة من أصل 28 وظيفة مؤقتة من فئة الخدمات العامة الوطنية لسائقين بقسمي النقل والإمدادات، وهو ما نتج عنه ما مجموعه 38 وظيفة مؤقتة معتمدة للفترة 2008/2009.

Administrative personnel 195. Three positions at the local-level category are being proposed for Drivers to support the Mission, as a result of the closure of the regional offices in 2008; hence, all support to the cantonment sites has to be provided from Kathmandu, coupled with the fact that the Mission only has one air asset, resulting in the increased demand for driver services.

There are currently 77 authorized positions for Drivers (Local level) and 14 individual contractors serve as drivers at headquarters in Kabul.
ويوجد حاليا 77 وظيفة مأذون بها لسائقين (من الرتبة المحلية) وأربعة عشر من فرادى المقاولين الذين يعملون كسائقين في المقر بكابل.

117. Three new positions have been proposed for Drivers (Local level) to support the Mission from August 2009 (ibid., table below para. 194).

(b) The establishment of 2 new Local level posts proposed for Drivers, whose functions were until now provided by staff with valid permits who were paid overtime to perform the functions but were not designated as drivers, leading to extended working hours not conducive to healthy working conditions;
(ب) إنشاء وظيفتين جديدتين من الرتبة المحلية مقترحتين لسائقين يؤدى موظفون يحملون تصاريح سارية المفعول مهامهما حتى الآن، ويدفع لهم تعويض عمل إضافي لأداء المهام، ولكن من دون تعيينهم سائقين، وهو ما أدى إلى تشغيلهم لساعات طويلة لا تفضي إلى ظروف عمل صحية؛

75. With respect to the two Local level posts requested for Drivers for the Witnesses and Victims Support Section for the prosecution in Arusha (ibid., para. 62), the Advisory Committee recommends approval of one position, since it is not certain whether there will indeed be six trials running simultaneously.
