Namibia reaffirms its support for the cooperative international and regional marine management Agreement aimed at protecting and conserving the marine environment, as embodied in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries.
وتؤكد ناميبيا من جديد تأييدها للاتفاق الدولي اﻹقليمي التعاوني ﻹدارة الموارد البحرية الذي يستهدف حماية وحفظ البيئة البحرية، كما يرد في مدونة منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة لﻷغذية والزراعة لقواعد السلوك لصيد اﻷسماك المتسم بالمسؤولية.

40. The Commission notes that the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, in paragraph 6.14, states that international trade in fish and fishery products should be conducted in accordance with the principles, rights and obligations established in the World Trade Organization Agreement and other relevant international agreements.

The United States believes that one of the most effective ways nations can promote sustainable fisheries and address the problems of illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing is to implement the provisions contained in the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement, the Compliance Agreement, and the FAO Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries.

In addition, Mexico had on 11 March 1999 deposited its instrument of acceptance of the Compliance Agreement and had also participated in a project developed by the Latin American Fishery Development Organization (OLDEPESCA) to support the regional implementation of international fisheries instruments, including the implementation of principles provided in the Fish Stocks Agreement and the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries.
