1. The Conference of the Parties (COP), at its sixteenth session, agreed to establish a Standing Committee (SC) to assist the COP in relation to the financial mechanism of the Convention.

In its resolutions 1/1 and 2/1, the Conference underlined that any mechanism established to assist the Conference in the review of the implementation of the Convention should have certain characteristics and reflect certain principles.

The Government of South Africa welcomes the work of the Secretariat in bringing forward the provisions contained in Conference resolutions 1/1 and 2/1, which provide for the establishment of a review mechanism to assist the Conference in reviewing the implementation of the Convention.
152- ترحب حكومة جنوب أفريقيا بالعمل التي اضطلعت به الأمانة في عرض الأحكام الواردة في قراري المؤتمر 1/1 و2/1، التي تنص على إنشاء آلية استعراض لمساعدة المؤتمر في استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية.

In its decision 4/1, the Conference of the Parties decided that it was necessary to explore options regarding an appropriate and effective review mechanism to assist the Conference in the review of the implementation of the Convention and its Protocols.
2- وقد قرّر مؤتمر الأطراف، في المقرّر 4/1، أن من الضروري استكشاف الخيارات فيما يتعلق بوضع آلية استعراض ملائمة وفعّالة لمساعدة المؤتمر في استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية والبروتوكولات الملحقة بها.

The Conference also took into account that the review of the implementation of the Convention was an ongoing and gradual process, and considered that it was necessary to explore options regarding an appropriate and effective mechanism to assist the Conference in the review of the implementation of the Convention and the Protocols thereto.
ووضع المؤتمر في اعتباره أيضا أن استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية هو عملية تدريجية ومستمرة، ورأى أن من الضروري استكشاف الخيارات المتعلقة بإيجاد آلية مناسبة وفعّالة لمساعدة المؤتمر في استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية والبروتوكولات الملحقة بها.

It therefore recommended that the Conference of the Parties create an open-ended working group on the implementation of the Convention and its Protocols with a view to exploring options regarding an appropriate and effective mechanism to assist the Conference in the review of implementation as soon as feasible, taking into account the importance of the matter to all Member States.
لذا أوصى مؤتمر الأطراف بإنشاء فريق عامل مفتوح العضوية معني بتنفيذ الاتفاقية وبروتوكولاتها بهدف استكشاف الخيارات المتعلقة بإيجاد آلية مناسبة وفعّالة لمساعدة المؤتمر في استعراض عملية التنفيذ بأسرع وقت ملائم، مع مراعاتها أهمية هذه المسألة بالنسبة لجميع الدول الأعضاء.

The question of whether a mechanism should be established to assist the Conference in ensuring the effective implementation of the Convention is separate from the question of how such a review mechanism should operate (France).

(g) Took into account that the review of the implementation of the Convention was an ongoing and gradual process, and considered that it was necessary to explore options regarding an appropriate and effective mechanism to assist the Conference in the review of the implementation of the Convention and the Protocols thereto;

764.8 Take note of the outcome of Sixth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime held in Vienna from 15 to 19 October 2012, as well as the work of the open-ended intergovernmental working group to develop a mechanism or mechanisms to assist the Conference in reviewing implementation of the Convention and the Protocols thereto.
764-8 الإحاطة علماً كذلك بنتائج المؤتمر الخامس لأطراف اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الجريمة المنظمة عبر الوطنية المنعقد في فيينا في الفترة من 15 إلى 19 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2012، وكذلك أعمال الفريق الحكومي الدولي المفتوح العضوية لإنشاء آلية أو آليات لمساعدة المؤتمر في مراجعة تنفيذ الاتفاقية والبروتوكولات المرفقة بها.
