His Excellency Mr. Léonard She Okitundu, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, presided over the opening ceremony which featured:

Subsequently, Leonard She Okintundu, Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, informed the Kinshasa diplomatic corps that both parties had agreed to withdraw their forces from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

During my visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I met in Kinshasa with the President, Joseph Kabila, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Léonard She Okitundu; the neutral facilitator, Sir Ketumile Masire; and representatives of civil society, members of the diplomatic corps and the heads of United Nations agencies and MONUC staff.

1. At the invitation of Thérence Sinunguruza, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Burundi, Léonard She Otikundu, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, made a working visit to Bujumbura on 12 and 13 October 2002.
1 - بدعوة من السيد تيرانس سينونغوروزا، وزير الخارجية والتعاون في جمهورية بوروندي، قام السيد ليونار شي أوكيتوندو، وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي في جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، بزيارة عمل إلى بوجومبورا يومي 12 و 13 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2002.

13. At the close of his working visit to Burundi, Léonard She Otikundu, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, conveyed to Major Pierre Buyoya, President of Burundi, and to his Government appreciation of the cordial and fraternal welcome accorded to him and to the members of his delegation during their stay in Bujumbura.

" In accordance with the understanding reached in the Council's prior consultations, and with the consent of the Council, the President extended an invitation to Léonard She Okitundu, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter and rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure.

This statement is formal evidence against the negative propaganda pronounced by Leonard She Okitundu, the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on 24 October 2002 in the Security Council meeting.
