Established in April 2006, the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) held its first annual conference and general meeting in Beijing in October 2006, at which it adopted a declaration in which it invited the Conference to give high priority to the streamlining of the various initiatives on asset recovery, paying particular attention to the urgent need to build knowledge and strengthen capacity in that area.
