In the meantime, having carried out the necessary preparatory work, the Authority is in a position to commence work on the elaboration of rules, regulations and procedures for prospecting and exploration for polymetallic sulphides and cobalt-rich crusts in the Area, as requested by the Russian Federation.

2. Prospectors shall cooperate with the Authority in the establishment and implementation of programmes for monitoring and evaluating the potential impacts of the exploration and exploitation of polymetallic sulphides and cobalt crusts on the marine environment.

1. The contractor shall have the exclusive right to explore an area covered by a plan of work for exploration in respect of polymetallic sulphides and cobalt crusts.

2.2 The Contractor shall have the exclusive right to explore for polymetallic sulphides and cobalt crusts in the exploration area in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract.
2-2 يكون للمتعاقد دون غيره الحق في استكشاف الكبريتيدات المؤلفة من عدة معادن والقشور الغنية بالكوبالت في قطاع الاستكشاف وفقا لأحكام هذا العقد وشروطه.

(b) A statement of the quantity of polymetallic sulphides and cobalt crusts recovered as samples or for the purpose of testing;

10.4 The Contractor shall keep, in good condition, a representative portion of samples of the polymetallic sulphides and cobalt crusts obtained in the course of exploration until the expiration of this contract.
