On 8 May, the Human Rights Council had appointed Makarim Wibisono of Indonesia as Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, upon the end of the term of Richard Falk.

At the 46th meeting, on 30 July, the Vice-President of the Council, Makarim Wibisono (Indonesia), introduced a draft resolution (E/1999/L.50) entitled “Report of the Committee for Programme and Coordination on the work of its thirty-ninth session”, submitted on the basis of informal consultations.

63. At the 44th meeting, on 28 July, the Council, on the proposal of the Vice-President of the Council, Makarim Wibisono (Indonesia), took note of documents considered in connection with the question of regional cooperation.

112. At the 44th meeting, on 28 July, the Vice-President of the Council, Makarim Wibisono (Indonesia), informed the Council that, as a result of informal consultations, the draft resolution had become a Vice-President’s text.
