A. Scope and purpose of the Organized Crime Convention

The role of prosecutors and courts in combating organized crime is essential in this respect and could be the focus of enhanced assistance.
ويعتبر دور أعضاء النيابة العامة والمحاكم في مكافحة الجريمة المنظّمة أساسياً في هذا الشأن، ويمكن أن يكون محور تعزيز المساعدة.

Further, it would be important to incorporate the component of combating organized crime into the work of the United Nations in post-conflict and peace-building operations and to collaborate in preventing and combating trafficking in persons, especially women and children, to and from conflict and post-conflict zones, including through the development and enforcement of strict codes of conduct for United Nations personnel.

B. Relevance of the offences established by the Organized Crime Convention to trafficking in cultural property
باء- علاقة الأفعال المجرّمة في اتفاقية مكافحة الجريمة المنظّمة بالاتّجار بالممتلكات الثقافية

Below are some examples of common forms of laundering of cultural property that could fall under the scope of article 6 of the Organized Crime Convention:

the Organized Crime Convention contains provisions to protect the integrity of the justice system from manipulations by organized criminal groups.

Although the Organized Crime Convention is not specific to trafficking in cultural property either, it is a useful tool for coordinating transnational law enforcement efforts in this regard.
