The Commission against Apartheid in Sports is helpful in highlighting and reducing this disparity between different Azanian communities.

The Special Committee continued its close cooperation with the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa and the Commission against Apartheid in Sports, the United Nations Educational and Training Programme for Southern Africa and the Trust Fund for South Africa.

3A.28 The Commission against Apartheid in Sports was established, under the terms of article 11 of the International Convention against Apartheid in Sports, at the resumed first meeting of the States Parties to the Convention, held on 2 March 1989.

3A.33 Responsibility for the substantive servicing of the Special Committee against Apartheid, its subsidiary bodies, the Commission against Apartheid in Sports and the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa rests with the Centre against Apartheid within the Department of Political Affairs.

Mr. MAYCOCK (Chairman of the Commission against Apartheid in Sports) referred to the close relationship which existed between the Special Committee against Apartheid and the Commission against Apartheid in Sports and said he was pleased that the contribution of Africa to mankind's development was increasingly acknowledged.

The Commission against Apartheid in Sports was established, under the terms of article 11 of the International Convention against Apartheid in Sports, at the resumed first meeting of the States Parties to the Convention, held on 2 March 1989. The Convention had been adopted by the General Assembly in its resolution 40/64 G of 10 December 1985.
٢١ - أنشئت لجنة مناهضة الفصل العنصري في اﻷلعاب الرياضية بموجب أحكام المادة ١١ من الاتفاقية الدولية لمناهضة الفصل العنصري في اﻷلعاب الرياضية في الاجتماع اﻷول المستأنف للدول اﻷطراف في الاتفاقية، المعقود في ٢ آذار/مارس ١٩٨٩، وقد اعتمدت الجمعية العامة الاتفاقية في قرارها ٤٠/٦٤ زاي المؤرخ ١٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٨٥.
