The General Assembly, in paragraph 3 of its resolution 48/252 A, decided that, with effect from 1 January 1994, the ad hoc judges referred to in Article 31 of the Statute of ICJ should continue to receive for each day they exercise their functions one three-hundred-and-sixty-fifth of the annual salary payable at the time to a member of the Court.

V. Customary international law and its relationship to other sources listed in Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice
خامسا - القانون الدولي العرفي وعلاقته بالمصادر الأخرى الواردة في المادة 38 من النظام الأساسي لمحكمة العدل الدولية

Although there was not enough practice in that area to constitute customary law within the meaning of article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice, there was an apparent consensus among States and international organizations, amounting to opinio juris, that jus cogens norms were binding on international organizations.

This may require an examination of the use and meaning of the term " general international law " , which may connote something other than " customary international law " ; the notion of a " merging of sources " , which raises among other things the relationship between customary international law and " general principles of law " (art. 38.1(c) of the ICJ Statute).

It is also uncertain whether, in the absence of recognition as customary law, the rules on lending organs constitute a general principle of international law along the lines of article 38 (1) (c) of the International Court of Justice Statute and article 6 of the International Law Commission [draft articles].
