In addition, in the case of Parties using certified emission reductions for compliance purposes, an amendment to Article 3, paragraph 12, may be required regarding additions to assigned amounts.

١- يجوز ﻷي طرف مدرج في المرفق اﻷول لغرض الوفاء بالتزاماته بموجب المادة ٣، أن ينقل إلى طرف آخر أو يحتاز منه وحدات خفض انبعاثات ناجمة عن المشاريع الهادفة إلى خفض الانبعاثات البشرية المصدر من غازات الدفيئة أو تعزيز إزالتها بواسطة البواليع في أي قطاع من قطاعات الاقتصاد شريطة ما يلي:

For the purpose of meeting its commitments under Article 3, any Party included in Annex I may transfer to, or acquire from, any other such Party emission reduction units resulting from projects aimed at reducing anthropogenic emissions by sources or enhancing anthropogenic removals by sinks of greenhouse gases in any sector of the economy, provided that:

It does not acquire any emission reduction units if it is not in compliance with its obligations; and
(ح) ألا تحتاز الأطراف وحدات خفض انبعاثات إذا لم يكن ذلك منسجما مع الالتزامات الملقاة على عاتقها؛

Fungibility/non-fungibility: Parties [may] [may not] exchange emission reduction units[, certified emission reductions] and [assigned amount units][parts of assigned amount] [in accordance with rules and procedures established by the COP/MOP which are to ensure their effective environmental equivalence].
