Zhou Guang'e, a woman in her 60s, Liu Fengxia, Dong Yimin and Zhang Zhonxiao were said to have been beaten for refusing to acknowledge being involved in an illegal religion.

28. The Working Group further observes that the Government has not denied that Chen Gang, Zhang Wenfu, Wu Xiaohua, Liu Junhua, Zhang Jiuhai and Zhu Xiaofei are Falun Gong practitioners, or that they were detained in connection with the practice of this discipline.

9. Following investigation, the local public security authorities were able to identify the three abducted persons as Wang Bingzhang, Yue Wu, and Zhang Qi.

Resorting to a serious charge such as incitement to subvert State power in response to peaceful criticism is not an appropriate application of the standard of least restrictive means possible, and Jin's and Zhang's expressions were unrelated to a specific threat to national security.
واللجوء إلى تهمة خطيرة مثل التحريض على تقويض سلطة الدولة ردّاً على نقد سلمي ليس تطبيقاً مناسباً لمعيار أقل السبل الممكنة تقييدا، كما أن الآراء التي عبر عنها جين وزانغ غير مرتبطة بأي تهديد محدد للأمن القومي.

Since the indictment of Jin and Zhang was issued on 29 August 2001 and the trial commenced on 28 September 2001 but was not concluded until 28 May 2003, these regulations have clearly not been adhered to in this case.
وبالنظر إلى أن قراراً اتهام جين وزانغ صدر في 29 آب/أغسطس 2001 وأن المحاكمة بدأت في 28 أيلول/سبتمبر 2001 ولكنها لم تنته إلاّ في 28 أيار/مايو 2003، فمن الواضح أن هذه القواعد لم تُحترم في هذه القضية.
