In this regard, my delegation is pleased to note that a number of countries have made contributions to the Voluntary Trust Fund to support the activities of the Tribunal, including in the areas of witness support mentioned above.

In the light of that consideration, my delegation is pleased to learn of the progress made by various institutions in the field in their efforts to meet the objectives of the Convention.

After a thorough study of the Council's last report, covering the period from 16 June 1997 to 15 June 1998, my delegation is pleased to note several improvements in regard to the content and format of the report.
