Working Group I met under the chairmanship of Alaa Issa (Egypt) and held 11 meetings between 2 and 17 April.
واجتمع الفريق العامل الأول برئاسة علاء عيسى (مصر) وعقد 11 جلسة في الفترة الممتدة من 2 إلى 17نيسان/أبريل.

I am in receipt of a communication from the Chairman of that Group stating that Mr. Alaa Issa of Egypt has been unanimously designated by the regional group to take over Working Group I.
ولقد استلمت رسالة من رئيس تلك المجموعة يفيد فيها بأن المجموعة الإقليمية قد اختارت بالإجماع السيد علاء عيسى، ممثل مصر، لتولي رئاسة الفريق العامل الأول.

Let me take this opportunity to commend Mr. Alaa Isaa and Mr. Santiago Mourao of Brazil on their election to chair the two working groups.
واسمحوا لي أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة لأثني على السيد علاء عيسى والسيد سانتياغو موراو، ممثل البرازيل، لانتخابهما لرئاسة الفريقين العاملين.

I take this opportunity also to thank the Chairmen of the two Working Groups, my best friends Mr. Alaa Issa of Egypt and Mr. Santiago Mourão of Brazil.

وقبل أن اختتم كلمتي، أود اﻹعراب عن امتناني الصادق لجميع نواب الرئيس وكذلك لمقرر الهيئة السيد علاء عيسى، ممثل مصر، على تعاونهم الوثيق ودعمهم.

4. The Working Group further notes that the source informed the Group that Hamed Alaa Eddine Chehadda, who had been arrested on 20 March 2005, was released in November 2006.
4- ويلاحظ الفريق العامل أيضاً أن المصدر أبلغه أن حامد علاء الدين شحادة، الذي كان قد أُلقي القبض عليه في 20 آذار/مارس 2005 قد أُطلق سراحه في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2006.

3. The Working Group met under the Chairmanship of Alaa Issa (Egypt), and held 12 meetings between 2 and 17 April 2003.

As for item 4 of our agenda, ways and means to achieve nuclear disarmament, while reaffirming the importance Mexico attaches to that issue, I wish to express to Mr. Alaa Issa of the delegation of Egypt our commitment to support him for the successful conclusion of the deliberations of the Working Group over which he presides.
وفيما يتعلق بالبند 4 من جدول أعمالنا، المعنون: سبل ووسائل تحقيق نزع السلاح النووي، فمع التأكيد مرة أخرى على الأهمية التي توليها المكسيك لهذه المسألة، أود أن أعرب للسيد علاء عيسى، ممثل مصر، عن التزامنا بمساعدته على إنهائنا بنجاح لمداولات الفريق العامل الذي يترأسه.

We cannot fail to take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude to the Chairman of Working Group I, Mr. Alaa Issa of Egypt, for his tremendous efforts, his diplomatic skill and the professional way in which he carried out his work.

In particular, the following students were reportedly arrested and tortured on 25 June 2000 by the security forces: Own Christopher, Mohamed Suliman Mahmoud, Tarig Awad, Alaa Eldeen Ahmed Osman, Medani Medani Mohamed, Khalid Hassan, Nizar Mohamed Awad, Alobied Hassan and Omer Mohamed Toam.
