After a careful study of the mechanisms within the United Nations system for the response to natural disasters, and the commendation of the significant role played by the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in support for the HOPEFOR initiative, the Conference adopted the recommendations below.
