5. Also requests the Secretary-General to sustain the present ratio between career and fixed-term appointments, and to submit to the General Assembly at its fifty-first session specific proposals on what proportion of appointments should be made on a fixed-term basis;

13 - تطلب إلى الأمين العام أن يواصل جهوده مع الأطــراف المعنيــة، وبالتشاور مع مجلس الأمن، من أجل التوصل إلى تسوية سلمية لقضية فلسطين وتعزيز السلام في المنطقة، وأن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الستين تقريرا عن تلك الجهود وعن التطورات المستجدة في هذه المسألة.

Requests the Secretary-General to continue to follow scientific and technological developments in order to make an assessment of emerging new technologies and to submit to the General Assembly at its forty-ninth session a framework for technology assessment guided, inter alia, by the criteria suggested in his report;
٥ - تطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يواصل متابعة التطورات العلمية والتكنولوجية بغية وضع تقييم ﻟ " التكنولوجيات الجديدة " الناشئة وأن يقدم الى الجمعية العامة في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين إطارا لتقييم التكنولوجيا يكون من بين ما يسترشد به المعايير المقترحة في تقريره؛

We request the Secretary-General to review the situation and to submit to the General Assembly a recommendation on the extent to which the Fund should be increased, bearing in mind that the fact that greater use will be made of it will ensure that bodies such as the World Migration Organization will have access to it.
إننا نطلب الى اﻷمين العــام أن يستعرض الحالة، وأن يقدم الى الجمعية العامة توصيــة بشــأن حجــم الزيادة التي يحتاجهــا الصنــدوق، علــى أن نذكــر أن الزيـادة في استخدام الصندوق ستكفل لبعض الهيئات، مثـل المنظمة الدولية للهجرة فرصة الاستفادة منه.
