I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude not only for your trust, but also for the generous cooperation afforded to me, including by many who did not disguise their concerns about my being a Catholic priest committed to the theology of liberation and to the freedom struggle of my people, led by the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional in my homeland, Nicaragua.
