For example, the International Tropical Timber Organization, the World Conservation Union, the World Wide Fund for Nature, FAO, the Center for International Forestry Research and other organizations jointly developed guidelines to promote the restoration of degraded tropical forests, the management of secondary tropical forests and the rehabilitation of degraded tropical forestlands.

Over the past year and a half, several Partnership members, including FAO, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Center for International Forestry Research, the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), have been collaborating in an effort to harmonize forest-related definitions.
