In their initial desk review for this report, the Inspectors identified several tasks given to the Secretariat by the COP that they judged to be additional activities, including collaboration with the GEF (decision 9/COP.4), tasks related to the CRIC (decisions 1 and 2/COP.5), and the regional coordination units initiative (decision 6/COP.5).

The SBI noted the important role played by the LEG in assisting LDCs with the preparation of NAPAs, and stressed the need for the LEG to continue to assist the LDCs that have not yet completed NAPAs to complete and submit these as soon as possible, in collaboration with the GEF and its agencies.

30. In decision 1/COP.5, the COP decided that, at sessions held during the COP, the CRIC should also consider reports on collaboration with the GEF.
30- وفي المقرر 1/م أ-5، قرر مؤتمر الأطراف أن تنظر لجنة استعراض تنفيذ الاتفاقية كذلك في التقارير المتعلقة بالتعاون مع مرفق البيئة العالمية أثناء الدورات التي تُعقد بالتزامن مع انعقاد مؤتمر الأطراف.

21. In its efforts to support the LDCs in fully implementing their NAPAs, the LEG included as part of its work programme for 2011 - 2012 an activity to develop an information paper on a programmatic approach to implementing NAPAs, in collaboration with the GEF and its agencies.
21- سعياً إلى دعم أقل البلدان نمواً في تنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية للتكيف تنفيذاً كاملاً، ضمَّن فريق الخبراء برنامج عمله للفترة 2011-2012 نشاطاً يتمثل في إعداد ورقة معلومات عن النهج البرنامجية لتنفيذ برامج العمل الوطنية للتكيف، وذلك بالتعاون مع مرفق البيئة العالمية ووكالاته.

As a result, the LEG, in collaboration with the GEF and its agencies, has addressed most of the obstacles identified by the LDCs, which related mainly to capacity at the national and agency levels to design projects, access to funds, and exchange of information.
