"

Ms. Motoc said that the axiom that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done was a principle that had originated in English law but which was now very widely accepted, notably by the European Court of Human Rights and was of much wider application than the case cited, also covering issues of conflict of interest that might apply to a judge.
