It was also encouraging that Mr. Bengt Lindqvist, former Minister for Social Affairs of Sweden, had been appointed Special Rapporteur.

Mr. KALLEHAUGE (Denmark), head of the International Committee set up by the Danish Council of Organizations of Disabled People and Vice-President of the Nordic Council of Organizations of Disabled People, said that the eradication of poverty, productive employment and social integration, which had been central themes of the World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen, were highly relevant issues for disabled people.
