Specific emphasis is given to the combating of all forms of violence against women, in particular gender-related (sexual) violence and the feminisation of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. At a local level the Netherlands supports a large number of projects and programmes of NGOs and government agencies in the area of the human rights of women.
