7. It should be noted that section 17.2 of the standard clauses also permits an extension of contract in cases of force majeure.

5. Section 8 of the standard clauses for exploration contracts provides:

(e) Also decided, subject to the present decision, that such expenditures shall be treated as actual and direct exploration expenditures as referred to in section 10 (c) of the standard clauses for exploration contracts contained in annex 4 to the Regulations;

The Commission therefore made a number of specific recommendations in relation to each contractor and requested the Secretary-General to request the contractors to fulfil the requirements of section 10 of the standard clauses.

14. 4. Urges the Secretary-General to consult as soon as possible with all contractors whose contracts were entered into as a result of applications made before the date of adoption of the present decision, with a view to renegotiating those contracts, in accordance with section 24.2 of the standard clauses for exploration contract, in order to include the provisions set out in the annex to the present decision;
4 - تحث الأمين العام على التشاور في أسرع وقت ممكن مع جميع الجهات المتعاقدة التي أبرمت العقود معها نتيجة للطلبات المقدمة قبل تاريخ اتخاذ هذا المقرر، بهدف إعادة التفاوض على تلك العقود، وفقا للبند 24-2 من الشروط القياسية لعقد الاستكشاف، من أجل إدراج الحكمين الواردين في مرفق هذا المقرر؛

3. Urges the secretariat to consult as soon as possible all contractors whose contracts were entered into as a result of applications made before the date of adoption of the present decision, with a view to renegotiating those contracts, in accordance with section 24.2 of the standard clauses for exploration contract, in order to include the provisions set out in the annex to the present decision;
3 - تحث الأمانة على التشاور في أسرع وقت ممكن مع جميع الجهات المتعاقدة التي أبرمت العقود معها نتيجة للطلبات المقدمة قبل تاريخ اتخاذ هذا المقرر، بهدف إعادة التفاوض على تلك العقود، وفقا للبند 24-2 من الشروط القياسية لعقد الاستكشاف، من أجل إدراج الحكمين الواردين في مرفق هذا المقرر؛

19. Section 17 of the standard clauses for exploration contract (ISBA/15/C/WP.1 and Corr.1, annex 4) provides for the possibility of extension of the term of the contract where, for reasons of force majeure, the contractor is temporarily prevented from its obligations under the contract.
19 - تنص المادة 17 من الشروط القياسية لعقد الاستكشاف (ISBA/15/C/WP.1 و Corr.1، المرفق 4) على إمكانية تمديد فترة العقد في الحالات التي يتعذر فيها على المتعاقد أداء التزاماته بموجب العقد لأسباب قاهرة.

87. With respect to the annual report of l'Institut français de recherche pour l'exploration de la mer/l'Association française pour l'étude et de la recherche de nodules (IFREMER/AFERNOD) for 2001, the Commission had recommended that the contractor be requested to submit a statement of expenditure in accordance with section 10.2 (c) of the standard clauses.
87 - فيما يتعلق بالتقرير السنوي للمعهد الفرنسي لبحوث استغلال البحار/المؤسسة الفرنسية لدراسات وبحوث العقيدات لعام 2001، أوصت اللجنة بأن يطلب من المتعاقد تقديم بيان بالنفقات وفقا للمادة 10-2 (ج) من الشروط القياسية.

9. In the case of existing contracts for exploration, section 24.2 of the standard clauses (annex 4 to the Regulations) states that the contract may be revised by agreement between the Contractor and the Authority " to facilitate the application of any rules, regulations and procedures adopted by the Authority subsequent to the entry into force of [the] contract " .
9 - وفي حالة العقود الحالية للاستكشاف، ينص البند 24-2 من الشروط القياسية (المرفق 4 من النظام) على أنه يجوز تنقيح العقد بموجب اتفاق بين المتعاقد والسلطة " لتيسير تنفيذ أي قواعد أو أنظمة أو إجراءات اعتمدتها السلطة في أعقاب دخول [هذا] العقد حيز النفاذ " .

5. The privileges and immunities, exemptions and facilities referred to in section 21 of the standard clauses shall also be accorded to the Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization, his/her spouse and minor children.
5 - تمنح الامتيازات والحصانات والإعفاءات المشار إليها في البند 21 من الأحكام الموحدة أيضا لنائب الأمين العام للمنظمة ولزوجته وأبنائه القُصَّر.

(c) In connection with subparagraph (b) above, the principle contained in the last sentence of section 12 of the standard clauses shall apply.

In this regard, the working group proposed that the basic procedures for the submission and approval of applications and most of the standard clauses of the exploration contracts would remain the same as in the Regulations.
