8. The matters dealt with in the report of JIU on common and joint services of the United Nations system organizations at Vienna (A/58/258) are of continuing concern to the Committee.

7. The JIU report on " Common and joint services of the United Nations system organizations at Vienna " (JIU/REP/2002/12) warranted serious consideration by Member States and the UNIDO Secretariat given that the strengthening of common services was one of the eight strategies proposed for the enhancement of support capacities by the United Nations Secretary-General.
7- وقال إن تقرير الوحدة عن " الخدمات العامة والمشتركة لمؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة في فيينا " (JIU/REP/2002/12) يستحق دراسة جادة من قبل الدول الأعضاء وأمانة اليونيدو نظرا إلى أن تعزيز الخدمات العامة يمثل أحد الاستراتيجيات الثماني التي اقترحها الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لتعزيز قدرات الدعم.

3. With reference to the common and joint services of the United Nations system organizations at Vienna, the European Union commended the JIU for its thorough examination contained in document A/58/258 and supported the recommendations for fostering the integration of services for the four organizations concerned through the establishment of a single unit.
3 - وفي ما يتعلق بالخدمات العامة والمشتركة لمؤسسات منظومة الأمم المتحدة في فيينا، قال إن الاتحاد الأوروبي يعرب عن ارتياحه للدراسة المتعمقة التي أجرتها وحدة التفتيش المشتركة في الوثيقة A/58/258 ويؤيد التوصيات الواردة فيها الداعية إلى إدماج هذه الخدمات المقدمة إلى المنظمات الأربع المعنية من خلال إنشاء وحدة إدارية وحيدة للخدمات العامة.
