In implementation of the directives of His Majesty, a three-day symposium on Omani women was held on 17 to 19 October 2009.

:: A number of seminars and workshops have been held by Omani women's associations with a view to raising the economic capacity of women and providing support and guidance for productive families.

The Committee regrets that no specific follow-up has been given to its recommendation on the right to a nationality contained in the previous concluding observations (CRC/C/15/Add.161, para. 34) and reiterates its concern that, according to the Nationality Law, children of Omani women married to non-nationals are not granted citizenship, whereas they are granted citizenship when the father is Omani.
وتأسف اللجنة لعدم اتخاذ إجراءات محددة لمتابعة توصيتها بشأن الحق في الجنسية، الواردة في ملاحظاتها الختامية السابقة CRC/C/15/Add.161)، الفقرة 34(، وتكرِّر الإعراب عن قلقها لأنه وفقاً لقانون الجنسية، لا يُمنَح حق المواطَنة لأطفال النساء العُمانيات المتزوجات من أجانب بينما يُمنح هذا الحق للطفل إذا كان الأب عُمانياً.

21. These achievements in the development of Omani women were possible only because of the responsiveness of Omani women and the continued State support of initiatives taken in this respect.
