A.11 Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 57/306 of 15 April 2003, on the investigation into sexual exploitation of refugees by aid workers in West Africa, the Secretary-General promulgated specific prohibitions against sexual exploitation and abuse that are binding on staff.

All regional bureau directors have sent written and specific instructions to all field offices under their supervision, to establish or reinforce measures to prevent the sexual exploitation of refugees.

18. Mr. Niiya (Japan) said that he strongly condemned any form of sexual exploitation of refugees by humanitarian aid workers and peacekeepers in refugee camps.
18 - السيد نيا (اليابان): قال إنه يدين بشدة أي شكل من أشكال الاستغلال الجنسي للاجئين على يد العاملين في مجال المعونة أو حفظ السلام في مخيمات هؤلاء اللاجئين.

26. The African Group had always condemned the sexual exploitation of refugees and emphasized Member States' collective responsibility to prevent such vulnerable groups from being further traumatized and to ensure that they reintegrated successfully into their societies.
