In a memorandum dated 29 June (S/1995/527), the Secretary-General described the steps to be taken in accordance with Article 14 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice in order to fill the vacancy that had occurred in the Court as a result of the resignation of Sir Robert Yewdall Jennings (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland).
