Furthermore, the Committee recommends that the State party address, as a matter of urgency, the high rates of malnutrition and develop community-based programmes, awareness and micronutrient campaigns to inform parents and caretakers about basic child health and nutrition, the advantages of breastfeeding and fortification or supplementation with vitamin A and zinc, hygiene and environmental sanitation and reproductive health.
