The human rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories are those referred to by the Security Council in its resolution 237 (1967) as " essential and inalienable human rights " and those rights which find their basis in the protection afforded by international law, in particular in circumstances such as military occupation and, in the case of prisoners of war, capture.
3 - ويشير مجلس الأمن في قراره 237 (1967) إلى حقوق الإنسان الخاصة بالشعب الفلسطيني وغيره من العرب في الأراضي المحتلة بوصفها من " حقوق الإنسان الأساسية غير القابلة للتصرف " وتستند في أساسها القانوني إلى الحماية التي يوفرها القانون الدولي في ظروف محددة، مثل الاحتلال العسكري أو الأسْر في حالة أسرى الحرب.

The human rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories are those referred to by the Security Council in its resolution 237 (1967) as " essential and inalienable human rights " and those rights that find their basis in the protection afforded by international law, in particular in circumstances such as military occupation and, in the case of prisoners of war, capture.

On this occasion, we vociferously condemn all Israeli measures impeding access by the Palestinian people and other Christians and Muslims from around the world to the religious sites in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and violating their right to worship freely.
وبهذه المناسبة، فنحن ندين بشدة جميع التدابير الإسرائيلية التي تعوق وصول أبناء الشعب الفلسطيني وغيرهم من المسيحيين والمسلمين من كافة أنحاء العالم إلى المواقع الدينية في الأرض الفلسطينية المحتلة، كما ندين المساس بحقهم في حرية العبادة.

Cuba fully shared the desire of the international community to resolve the problems affecting the countries of the Middle East, and, in particular, to achieve a final settlement of the Palestinian problem, for there could be no just and lasting peace as long as the Palestinian people and other Arabs in the occupied territories were deprived of the opportunity to exercise their basic rights effectively.

إن الممارسات والسياسات التي يتبعها النظام الصهيوني القائم بالاحتلال ضد الشعب الفلسطيني وسائر البلدان اﻹسلامية كانت المصدر الرئيسي لعدم الاستقرار والعنف وانعدام الثقة في المنطقة طوال العقود اﻷربعة الماضية.

Finally, it called on the international community, and in particular the Security Council, to ensure that the Special Committee's recommendations were effectively implemented with a view to promoting and protecting the rights of the Palestinian people and other Arabs of the occupied territories.
وأخيرا يطلب وفده إلى المجتمع الدولي، وإلى مجلس الأمن بصفة خاصة، كفالة التنفيذ الفعال لتوصيات اللجنة الخاصة بغية تعزيز وحماية حقوق الشعب الفلسطيني وغيره من السكان العرب في الأراضي المحتلة.
