III. Implementation of the water policy and strategy

The freshwater component of the water policy and strategy should be significantly enhanced and strengthened.
(ل) إن عناصر المياه العذبة في سياسات وإستراتيجيات المياه يجب أن تزداد وتتعزز.

(a) To use the water policy and strategy as a framework and guidance to direct the United Nations Environment Programme's programme of work in the field of water through the year 2012;
(أ) أن يستخدم السياسات والاستراتيجية بشأن المياه كإطار وتوجيه يسترشد به برنامج عمل برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة في مجال المياه حتى عام 2012؛

The Council/Forum also requested the Executive Director to take the necessary effective measures to monitor the implementation of the water policy and strategy as updated and to report on the implementation of decision 23/2 to the Council/Forum at its twentyfourth session.
