On 6 and 7 May 2008 it organized, jointly with UNEP and the Government of Ukraine, a regional workshop on renewable energy development in the Carpathian Mountains at Lviv, and from 18 to 22 May 2008 it collaborated with the Brazilian Ministry of Mining and Energy in organizing the Global Renewable Energy Forum held in Foz do Iguaçu.
