In doing so, the Israeli occupation authorities are continuing their violation of the principles of human rights and international law, as well as the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention, of 1949, on the protection of Civilians in Time of war.

It is essential that the international community, recognizing that armed conflict endangers the lives of civilians, take steps to ensure that all efforts are made to enhance respect for international humanitarian law defined for the protection of Civilians in Time of war so that civilians can live as normal a life as possible, and in accordance with their laws, their cultures and their traditions.
