International standards, such as the Convention of the Rights of the Child, state that children should be given the right to express their views freely on all matters concerning them, and their " views should be given due weight in accordance with the age and maturity of the child " (art. 12).
وتنص المعايير الدولية، كاتفاقية حقوق الطفل، على ضرورة منح الأطفال حق التعبير عن آرائهم بحرية في جميع المسائل التي تهمهم، وعلى ضرورة أن " تولى آراء الطفل الاعتبار الواجب وفقاً لسن الطفل ونضجه " (المادة 12).

320. In the light of article 12 of the Convention, the Committee recommends that the State party strengthen its efforts on the mainland and in the Hong Kong and Macau SARs to ensure that children have the right to express their views freely on all matters affecting them and to have those views given due weight in policy-making, administrative proceedings, schools and the home.
320- في ضوء أحكام المادة 12 من الاتفاقية، توصي اللجنة بأن تعزز الدولة الطرف جهودها في كلٍ من الصين القارية ومنطقتي هونغ كونغ وماكاو الإداريتين الخاصتين، كي تكفل للأطفال حقهم في التعبير عن آرائهم بحرية في جميع المسائل التي تمسهم، وتولي آراء الطفل الاعتبار الواجب في وضع السياسات، وفي الإجراءات الإدارية، وفي المدرسة وداخل الأسرة.
