In its resolution 12/15, the Council requested OHCHR to hold a workshop on regional arrangements for the promotion and protection of human rights on a regular basis and to convene the next one in the first semester of 2010 to allow further sharing information and concrete proposals on ways and means to strengthen cooperation between the United Nations and regional arrangements.

Requests the Secretary-General to submit to the Commission at its fiftyninth session a report on the state of regional arrangements for the promotion and protection of human rights, to formulate concrete proposals and recommendations on ways and means to strengthen cooperation between United Nations and regional arrangements in the field of human rights and to include therein the results of action taken in pursuance of the present resolution;
