1. The present report is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 59/221 of 22 December 2004, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General, in collaboration with the secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), to report to it at its sixtieth session on the implementation of that resolution and on developments in the multilateral trading system.
أولا - مقدمة 1 - هذا التقرير مقدم عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة 59/221 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2004، الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم، بالتعاون مع أمانة الأونكتاد، تقريرا إليها في دورتها الستين عن تنفيذ ذلك القرار وعن التطورات الحاصلة في النظام التجاري المتعدد الأطراف.

" Paragraph 13 of the resolution requests the Secretary-General to continue his efforts with the parties concerned, and in consultation with the Security Council, towards the attainment of a peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the promotion of peace in the region and to submit a report on these efforts and on developments on this matter.

The present report has been prepared in response to General Assembly resolution 54/45, in particular, paragraph 4 of that resolution, in which the Assembly requested that a report be submitted to it at its fifty-seventh session on the information supplied by the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties on their meetings, and activities in Antarctica and on developments in relation to Antarctica.
