- On 27 August 1994, the newspaper Babil published an account of the meeting of Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, with delegates from Iraq and Kuwait. It placed the words " the boundaries of Kuwait " between parentheses. As everyone knows, parentheses are used to indicate reservations regarding the matter placed between parentheses.
- بتاريخ ٢٧/٨/١٩٩٤ نشرت صحيفة بابل خبر اجتماع الدكتور عصمت عبد المجيد أمين عام جامعة الدول العربية مع موفدين من العراق والكويت، ووضعت كلمة حدود الكويت بين قوسين، وكما هو معروف للجميع بأن وضع اﻷقواس علامة تستخدم للاشارة الى التحفظ على الموضوع داخل القوسين.
