The report containing a preliminary set of basic policy guidelines submitted to the Sub-Commission at its forty-seventh session is currently before the Commission.

The Special Rapporteur wishes especially to highlight the constructive work of the Sub-Commission's Working Group on Minorities, established in 1995, and has taken special note of the recommendations to the Sub-Commission on the question of minority protection submitted in 1993 by Sub-Commission member Mr. Asbjørn Eide.

The Secretary-General was requested, in paragraph 3, to provide assistance and facilities to the Subcommission in accomplishing its task.
ورُجي من اﻷمين العام في الفقرة ٣، أن يقدم الى اللجنة الفرعية المساعدة والتسهيلات في انجاز مهمتها.

In that regard, the Committee recalled that it had submitted its own recommendations to the Subcommission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities.

The Special Rapporteur said that he would submit the third progress report to the Sub-Commission at its forty-eighth session, and that he would conclude his study and submit his final report in 1997.

Decides to give further consideration to this matter at its forty-ninth session, on the basis of any additional information which may be contained in reports of the Secretary-General to the Sub-Commission or to other United Nations bodies, or which may be submitted to the Sub-Commission by Governments or non-governmental organizations.
٣- تقرر إيلاء مزيد من النظر لهذه المسألة في دورتها التاسعة واﻷربعين، على أساس أية معلومات إضافية قد تحتوي عليها تقارير اﻷمين العام الى اللجنة الفرعية أو الى هيئات اﻷمم المتحدة اﻷخرى، أو أية معلومات إضافية قد تقدمها الحكومات أو المنظمات غير الحكومية الى اللجنة الفرعية.

It also requested the Secretary-General to report on the results of the meeting to the Subcommission at its forty-sixth session and to the Commission at its fifty-first session.
كما رجت من اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا عن نتائج الاجتماع الى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها السادسة واﻷربعين والى لجنة حقوق الانسان في دورتها الحادية والخمسين.

The Special Rapporteur presented her final report to the Subcommission at its forty-fourth session. This included a detailed set of recommendations for measures on how to improve, on a long-term basis, the protection of personnel of the United Nations system and their families, as well as experts and consultants.
وقدمت المقررة الخاصة تقريرها النهائي الى اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الرابعة واﻷربعين، وشمل التقرير مجموعة مفصلة من التوصيات من أجل اتخاذ تدابير للعمل على تحسين حماية موظفي منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة وأسرهم فضلا عــن خبرائها وخبرائهــا الاستشاريين على أســاس طويــل اﻷجــل.

The Meeting also noted that any additional information provided by organizations of the United Nations system would be submitted to the Subcommittee as an addendum to that document.
