3. Mr. Lauber (Switzerland), after reviewing the various stages of the work which had culminated after half a century in the approval of the draft convention, said that the draft articles marked a milestone in the codification and progressive development of international rules on the topic.

39. Mr. Lauber (Switzerland) said that his delegation strongly condemned all acts of violence directed against United Nations and associated personnel. It hoped that measures would be taken to establish a legal protection system that would have the maximum deterrent effect.
39- السيد لوبير (سويسرا): قال إن سويسرا تدين بحزم جميع أعمال العنف التى ترتكب ضد موظفي الأمم المتحدة والأفراد المرتبطين بها وتؤيد اتخاذ تدابير محددة من أجل وضع نظام حماية قانونية شامل ورادع بقدر الإمكان.

44. Mr. Lauber (Switzerland) said that, as the depositary State of the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, Switzerland had the honour to inform the Committee that the Conventions had achieved universality: the recent accessions of Nauru and Montenegro had brought the number of States parties to 194.

Mr. Lauber (Switzerland): I would like to make a brief statement with regard to draft resolution A/C.1/65/L.39/Rev.1, entitled " Women, disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation " , which was introduced yesterday by the representative of Trinidad and Tobago.

5. Mr. Lauber (Switzerland) said that his Government, as the depositary of the Geneva Conventions and the Additional Protocols informed the Committee that 192 States were parties to the Conventions while 162 were parties to Protocol I and 157 to Protocol II and that 68 States had recognized the competence of the International Fact-Finding Commission.
