At the 34th meeting, on 18 July, the Council endorsed the recommendation of the Fourteenth United Nations Regional Cartographic Conference for Asia and the Pacific concerning the convening of the Fifteenth Conference and requested the Secretary-General to take measures to implement the other recommendations of the Fourteenth Conference (E/1997/52, paras. 17 (a) and (b)).
