On 22 October 2004, the Committee decided to establish three subcommittees with a view to sharing the task of considering member States' reports submitted pursuant to paragraph 4 of resolution 1540 (2004) with each subcommittee covering for the above-mentioned purpose an equal number of States grouped according to alphabetical order.
