In its resolution 55/230 of 23 December 2000, the General Assembly reaffirmed article 20 of the Unit's statute, as well as paragraph 182 of its resolution 54/249 of 23 December 1999, and requested the Secretary-General to submit the report of CEB on the budget proposals made by the Unit as required by its statute.
وقد جددت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 55/230 المؤرخ 23 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2000، تأكيد المادة 20 من النظام الأساسي للوحدة، والفقرة 182 من قرارها 54/249 المؤرخ 23 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1999، وطلبت إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها تقرير مجلس الرؤساء التنفيذيين بشأن مقترحات الميزانية المقدمة من الوحدة حسب مقتضى نظامها الأساسي.

٦ - تقرر دراسة توصية اللجنة الاستشارية لشؤون اﻹدارة والميزانية بشأن إجراء تخفيض شامل بنسبة ٥ في المائة في مقترحات الميزانية المقدمة من اﻷمين العام وذلك في ضوء المجموعة التالية من تقارير اﻷداء المالي ذات الصلة؛

6. Decides to examine the recommendation of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions for 5 per cent across the board reductions of the budget proposals of the Secretary-General in the light of the next series of relevant financial performance reports;

60. The budget proposals submitted by the secretariat and the GM to COP9 provide further elements to the extent of which efficiency gains in terms of budget implications as well as improved efficiency could have been obtained.
