I sincerely hope that it would be possible for the Ad Hoc Committee on a Nuclear Test Ban to accept a modification to the present text of Article XIV. If, however, the present text is sought to be retained, I am instructed to inform the Conference that India would be reluctantly obliged to oppose such efforts.

4. Welcomes the adoption by the General Conference of the Agency of resolution GC(43)/RES/8 on the amendment of Article XIV.A of the statute, which will provide for biennial budgeting by the Agency;

We believe, however, that the onus lies principally with the remaining number of the 44 countries, stipulated in Annex 2 of Article XIV of the Treaty, and would strongly urge them to take immediate steps to sign/accede/ratify the Treaty.

20. The Technical Secretariat may enter into cooperative verification arrangements in accordance with the provisions of Article XIV {Cooperation, Compliance and Dispute Settlement} para. 3 and the provisions of Article XVIII, Section A {Relation to Other International Agreements} para. 2.

1. Each State that has already deposited its instrument of ratification of the Treaty before the opening of the Conference (hereinafter " ratifier " ) may participate in and be represented at the Conference convened pursuant to paragraph 3 of Article XIV of the Treaty.

1. Decisions on the measures referred to in paragraph 2 of Article XIV of the Treaty shall be taken by consensus of ratifiers, taking into account, to the maximum extent possible, views expressed at the Conference by signatories.
1 - تُتَّخذُ القرارات المتعلقة بالتدابير المشار إليها في الفقرة 2 من المادة الرابعة عشرة من المعاهدة بتوافق آراء الدول المصدِّقة، على أن تُراعَى، إلى أقصى مدى ممكن، الآراء التي أُبديت في المؤتمر من جانب الدول الموقِّعة.

The IMF noted that it had continued to encourage the acceptance of the obligations of article VIII, sections 2, 3 and 4, of its Articles of Agreement by those members that continued to avail themselves of the transitional arrangements of Article XIV. In 1993-1994, 17 member countries had accepted the obligations of article VIII, which had brought the total number of countries that had accepted the obligations of article VII to 91.
١٥ - وأشار صندوق النقد الدولي الى أنه قد واصل تشجيع اﻷعضاء الذين استمروا في الاستفادة من الترتيبات الانتقالية للمادة الرابعة عشرة على قبول الالتزامات الواردة في المادة الثامنة، والبنود ٢ و ٣ و ٤ من مواد الاتفاق الخاص به. وفي الفترة ١٩٩٣ - ١٩٩٤، قبل ١٧ بلدا عضوا الالتزامات الواردة في المادة الثامنة، وبذلك أصبح العدد الاجمالي للبلدان التي قبلت الالتزامات الواردة في المادة السابعة ٩١ بلدا.
