7. In the light of the changed circumstances in the Middle East, the Government of Ghana believes that it is now opportune to review the 1973 decision of the Organization of African Unity, which led to the severance of relations with Israel by member States of the Organization.

On relations between the two countries, the Prime Minister noted that Chad was not the source of the severance of relations as the Sudan had taken a unilateral decision to break diplomatic relations. The Government of Chad was committed to the African Union-led mediation and had always sent a high-level delegation (Foreign Minister) to the meetings.
