An official of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Cameroon, in charge of the liaison with non-governmental organizations, attended the training workshop in the Dja Biosphere Reserve on behalf of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
وقام مسؤول من وزارة الخارجية في الكاميرون تناط به مسؤولية الاتصال بالمنظمات غير الحكومية، بحضور الدورة التدريبية في منطقة دجا المحمية في المحيط الحيوي باسم وزارة الخارجية.

7. A training workshop and consultations were held in the Mékas village, in the Dja Biosphere Reserve, where Pygmies from several local communities in the Reserve had the opportunity to speak about their situation and issues.

Participants in the Dja Biosphere Reserve expressed concerns about the absence of local transport and accessible roads that effectively left the community isolated from the rest of the country.
وأعرب المشاركون في منطقة دجا المحمية في المحيط الحيوي عن قلقهم إزاء عدم وجود وسائل نقل محلية وطرق معينة يسهل الوصول إليها مما أدى فعلياً إلى عزل المجتمع المحلي عن بقية البلد.

The President of the Association pour le développement du Dja said that his organization was pleased to be sponsoring the workshop and he welcomed the representatives of the United Nations system and the participants to the Dja Reserve.

(a) The Management Plans of the Waza National Park and the Dja Reserve in Cameroon have made provisions for the involvement of local communities in the management committee of the reserves;

This is a question that remains pertinent to many thousands of indigenous and tribal peoples communities throughout the world, but in the Dja Reserve is complicated by the fact that there are two main communities (Bantou and Pygmy) inhabiting the reserve, one of which is discriminated against and, in some cases, exploited by the other.

6. The above-mentioned workshop, held in Yaoundé and the Dja Biosphere Reserve in Cameroon from 11 to 15 November 2002, was organized by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Subregional Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa.

A certain number of private radio stations complement the Chadian National Radio in disseminating information, namely: FM Liberté (N'Djamena); Voix du Paysan (Doba), Lotikôh (Sarh), Brakoss (Moïssala), Al Nasr (N'Djamena), Dja FM (N'Djamena), Ngato FM (N'Djamena), Ngato FM (N'Djamena), Terre Nouvelle (Bongor) and La Voix de l'Espérance (N'Djamena) and one of these is run by a woman.
