وقد فرضت اﻷرجنتين مؤخرا حظرا اختياريا على تصدير اﻷلغام في عام ١٩٩٥؛ وقد شرفني أن أوقﱢع مؤخرا في كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧ بالنيابة عن بلدي في أوتاوا على اتفاقية حظر استعمال وتخزين وإنتاج ونقل اﻷلغام المضادة لﻷفراد وتدمير تلك اﻷلغام.
